Who we are and how we work to support the trans community.

GenderGP is an online health and wellbeing clinic which proudly serves transgender people of all ages across the world – and those who support them. The organisation works tirelessly to promote excellence in trans healthcare, campaigning for improved access and understanding at all levels, in line with international best practice.

 

GenderGP is owned by Hong Kong based Harland International Ltd, a global organisation which provides advocacy services for LGBTQI+ people around the world.

GenderGP works with a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants, counsellors, therapists and psychologists. All healthcare professionals working with GenderGP are carefully selected for their knowledge, skills and attitude in the field of gender-related healthcare. Each specialist is regulated to provide care in accordance with their professional standards.

The organisation’s multidisciplinary team is fully equipped to deal with the care of trans and gender non-conforming patients of all ages. As there is no recognised training or qualification in this field, all learning is by personal professional development. GenderGP and its doctors follow the peer-reviewed, published International Guidance from the WPATH, The Endocrine Society, The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and Australia.

GenderGP is a global organisation working with professionals from around the world. All members of GenderGP’s multidisciplinary team have the necessary registration, indemnity and qualifications to suit their role. They are regulated in their own country, for each of the activities they carry out. There is no specific training requirement to practice in this area, and no GMC register or GPSI qualification.

In order to make healthcare as affordable as possible, and to provide the widest range of options to its users, GenderGP works both as an independent service and collaboratively with the patient’s doctor.

Patients can choose whether to have blood tests privately or through their doctor. Medication can also be prescribed by their family doctor, via a collaboration agreement, or via a private prescription. Prescriptions can be dispensed by the individual’s local pharmacy or using an online pharmacy, all pharmacies recommended by GenderGP are operating entirely within the required regulations of their country.

The organisation uses telemedicine and remote consulting to allow people to access it’s services from their own home, thus breaking down political, geographical and socio-economic barriers that are faced by this patient group.

GenderGP offers a safe, compassionate bridging service for patients waiting for their Public Health Service or as a stand alone private service.
